Could play big role this season Wilson could play a sizable role in the UTEP offense in 2025, according to El Paso Times.

Impact Wilson was one of the standout performers for UTEP during the spring practices, and the running back seems to have separated himself from the pack when it comes to potential playing time. A concrete decision will be made in the fall, but it wouldn't be surprising if Wilson ends up seeing around 15 carries per game, which should make him a workhorse in the backfield.

Signs with UTEP Wilson has signed with UTEP, according to the team's X account.

Impact UTEP's football program has been successful improving its running back room. Jevon Jackson was the 2024 Miners' primary RB, and he is still part of their team. Shane Porter is another proven rusher who will transfer from North Texas to UTEP. They are expected to be the primary competition for Wilson, who broke out during UNC Charlotte's 2024 season. It included him logging more than 600 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns as an RB2. There is a chance he could be the 2025 Miners' primary rusher.

Impact Wilson had a nice end to the season Saturday, highlighted by his seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He rushed 14 times for 84 yards, both of which were his second most this season. It was a solid season for him as the No. 2 back as he rushed 91 times for 559 yards and seven touchdowns.

Impact Wilson led the team in rushing attempts and yards Thursday and tripled Cartevious Norton's yardage on the day. Wilson now leads the team in rushing this season despite receiving 26 fewer carries than Norton as he is averaging 6.7 yards per carry compared to Norton's 4.6. It appears likely that this will be a split backfield for the rest of the campaign, but Wilson is likely the better option given he's more efficient and has scored more touchdowns.

Impact Just a week after recording seven rushing yards on five attempts, Wilson lit up the Pirates with 164 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He scored a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter, a 23-yard touchdown to open up the fourth quarter and then just a few minutes later completed the hat trick with a 65-yard house call. After an electric performance, Wilson could see an increase in his workload.

Impact Wilson received six carries, the second most among 49ers' running backs Saturday, and was by far more productive than Cartevious Norton. He averaged 8.7 yards per rush and scores the game-winning 39-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He also gained 33 yards through the air on two catches. He has easily been the 49ers' most efficient running back this season and could continue to see more work as the season progresses.

Wilson did not quite live up to his 198-yard, three-touchdown performance from the week prior. He still led the team in rushing attempts and yards, out-carrying Joachim Bangda 14 to eight. If Byrd and Kellman miss Saturday's game at South Florida, expect Wilson to lead the backfield once again versus a mediocre Bulls' defense.

He received his first carry in the second quarter and took it for seven yards, the longest play of the game to that point. After that point he became the bell cow and put together one of the best rushing performances of the season across all conference's out of complete obscurity. Given the unclear status of Shadrick Byrd and Terron Kellman for Saturday's game and how well Wilson played versus Memphis, Wilson could start Saturday.
