Impact Marburger will join the Vaqueros following four years with UTSA. The redshirt junior quarterback appeared in seven games for the Roadrunners in 2024, throwing for 234 yards and two touchdowns to three interceptions. He will retain a single year of eligibility with UTRGV.

Impact Marburger played the second half of Saturday's game after an ineffective half from Owen McCown. Marburger wasn't much better, but he did toss the Roadrunners' lone touchdown of the game. McCown was named the starting quarterback prior to Week 1 after a lengthy quarterback battle, but after Saturday it's unclear where things stand in the UTSA quarterback room. With this Saturday's game at No. 2 Texas, it would not be surprising to see both quarterbacks in action.

Not in line to start Marburger will backup Owen McCown during UTSA's opener versus Kennesaw State on Saturday, JJ Perez of 247sports.com reports

Impact McCown was announced as the team's starter just before the game kicked off despite being listed as a co-starter alongside Marburger in the team's initial depth chart. Marburger could still see the field however if McCown either struggles or gets hurt.
