It's unclear whether he's dealing with a new issue or if Miami is being cautious with Chaney with the season approaching. There will likely be more information on Chaney's status in the lead-up to the Sept. 4 opener against Alabama.

Impact Chaney believed he would be ready for fall camp, but it appears he's not all the way back from his offseason shoulder surgery. The freshman has plenty of time to shed that jersey before the opener versus Alabama on Sept. 4 as he looks to lay claim to a role in Miami's backfield.
