Tar Heels turn to Conner Harrell at QB after Max Johnson's season-ending injury

North Carolina is moving forward with Conner Harrell as its starting quarterback after Max Johnson suffered a season-ending injury in the opener at Minnesota

Replacement in win over Minnesota Harrell was 2-for-4 passing for 34 yards during Thursday's 19-17 win against Minnesota.

Impact Harrell came in to replace starter Max Johnson after Johnson went down with an injury. With Johnson out for the season Harrell will likely assume starting duties as he was in a tightly contested quarterback battle with Johnson throughout the offseason.

Impact Unsurprisingly, Max Johnson will be North Carolina's starting quarterback Thursday. As for Harrell, it is unclear whether or not he will receive at least some snaps at Minnesota. The sophomore's availability likely depends on how Johnson and UNC play.
