Leads running backs in bowl win Brooks was the top running back for BYU with 88 rushing yards on 19 carries and one touchdown in the 24-23 win over SMU in the New Mexico Bowl on Dec. 17.

Impact Brooks really picked up the pace in the second half against SMU after only running for 28 yards on 10 carries in the first half. After transferring from California to BYU, Brooks finished with 111 attempts on 725 rushing yards and five touchdowns this season. It was his second highest season with his best coming in 2019 with 794 rushing yards for the Bears.

Leads BYU again in rushing Brooks maintained his moniker as the Cougars' number-one runner going for 86 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown in the 28-20 loss to Notre Dame in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Impact The previous week the senior back collected 90 rushing yards against Utah State. He faces an Arkansas team that is in the middle of the FBS in rushing defense. He still has a chance to put up decent numbers against the Razorbacks.

Leads Cougars in rushing Brooks had his best week on the ground since the season opener as the senior compiled 90 yards on 11 carries in the BYU 38-26 victory over Utah State on Sept. 29 at home.

Impact Brooks had 135 rushing yards in the Sept. 3 win over South Florida as his season's best. The senior has only gone over the century mark four times in his college career that included his first four seasons at California. Brooks is the leading Cougars' ball carrier but BYU usually has thrown the ball this season. If the Cougars decide to go on the ground, the senior could put up some good numbers against Notre Dame on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Las Vegas. The 2022 Irish rushing defense is a bit down this season except for in the red zone. The Irish have allowed an average of 143 yards on the ground per game, but have allowed only three rushing touchdowns this season.
