Impact Hansen has recorded double-digit touches in all three games this season. He's been quite active in the passing game with six catches (on nine targets) for 32 yards through the first three games. While the volume has been a positive, it has been limited as Abu Sama also received 14 total touches against the Hawkeyes. Moving forward, it appears that Iowa State is comfortable utilizing both backs. Both should find success at Arkansas State next week.

Impact Hansen wasn't asked to do much against the Coyotes as Iowa State scored early and often. It was likely a strategic move for the Cyclones to rest one of their best offensive players as they gear up for their in-state rivalry game with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Hansen was not a prominent part of the offensive gameplan yet when they played last year as he had just two carries for two yards and two catches for five yards. He'll look to have a much bigger impact this year.

Impact Hansen had the most volume out of the backfield for the Cyclones; however, it wasn't by a large margin. Sama had a critical fumble around the end-zone early in the game and was less efficient overall at 3.1 yards per carry compared to Hansen's 4.4 yards per game. Hansen does appear to be the primary back for the team although both are expected to get carries against South Dakota next week.
