Impact This is notable for Iowa State because Hansen had been sharing carries with fellow tailback Abu Sama, and that was reportedly expected to continue into the 2025 season. Now, both backs still figure to get plenty of carries, but Hansen sits atop the depth chart for Week 0, at the very least. Last fall, he ran for 752 yards and five scores on 151 carries (5.0 yards-per-carry) and caught 13 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Impact Hansen received a career-high 15 carries and rushed for 97 yards. Iowa State's run-game was dominant against the Bears with 265 total yards on 45 carries. Jaylon Jackson led the way with 15 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns while Abu Sama had eight carries for 17 yards. It's entirely possible Iowa State continues the committee approach when they play at West Virginia next week.

Impact Hansen was able to record his first two collegiate touchdowns in the rout of the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
