Won't play versus East Carolina Horvath (back) will miss Friday's game versus East Carolina.

Impact Horvath departed last week's contest versus Tulane with an issue with his back and ribs. Unfortunately, that issue will cost him another contest, at a minimum, leaving the Midshipmen without their star quarterback. Braxton Woodson and Jackson Gutierrez are the candidates to draw the start under center in Horvath's place. Horvath will have a week to rest up before the annual Army-Navy game on Dec. 14.

Impact Horvath was managing sore ribs and back spasms heading into Saturday's game and the two ailments flared up in the first quarter. He left the game and made a brief return in the second quarter before leaving the game for good. Although the Midshipmen offense had not done much with Horvath in the game, it completely shut down with Braxton Woodson under center. If Horvath is forced to miss the next game -- at East Carolina on Nov. 29 -- the value of every Midshipmen offensive player will decrease significantly.

Solid in win over USF Horvath completed 6 of 11 passes for 58 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 28-7 win against South Florida. He also had 19 rushes for 56 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Horvath did not light up the stat sheet Saturday, but he did enough to end the Midshipmen's two-game losing streak. He tossed his 11th touchdown of the season but threw for just 58 yards, by far his lowest this season. He added an inefficient 56 yards on the ground, but scored his 13th rushing touchdown of the season to make up for it. He faces a difficult and very important matchup versus Tulane next.

Struggles versus Rice Horvath was 10-for-21 passing for 120 yards and two interceptions during Saturday's 24-10 loss against Rice. He also had 16 rushes for 64 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Horvath had another quiet game Saturday as the Midshipmen lost their second game in a row. He threw two interceptions in the loss, bringing him up to five in the last two games after committing just one turnover through the first six games of the season. He ran for 64 yards and a touchdown though, so he ultimately ended up with an okay performance. He will look to bounce back Saturday at South Florida.

Fairly quiet versus Notre Dame Horvath completed 7 of 13 passes for 88 yards and one interception during Saturday's 51-14 defeat to Notre Dame. He also had 14 rushes for 129 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Horvath had his worst outing of the season Saturday as he accounted for just one touchdown and turned the ball over three times after coming into the game with just one through six games. It was easily the toughest matchup he has faced yet this season, so it was not a massive surprise. He still accumulated 129 rushing yards - his second most in a game this season - so he ended up having a decent day. He should be able to bounce back next Saturday at Rice.

Impact Horvath had another productive outing Saturday as he ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns in the blowout win over rivals Air Force. He now has 10 rushing touchdowns in his last four games. He also attempted a season-high 15 passes and threw for 134 yards, however he did not throw a touchdown pass for the first time this season.

Another excellent outing Horvath completed 9 of 11 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 41-18 win versus UAB. He also had 13 rushes for 84 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Horvath continued his excellent run of form Saturday as he accounted for three touchdowns and set a season high with 225 yards through the air. Most of his passing production came on two plays, a 77-yard touchdown throw to Nathan Kent late in the second quarter and a 74-yard touchdown pass to Eli Heidenreich early in the third. It was the third time in four games that he has threw multiple touchdowns. He also added 84 yards on the ground and scored his eighth rushing touchdown of the season. Not only is he efficient and productive in the passing game, but he is also putting up elite production on the ground and is averaging nearly 10 yards per carry. There is no reason to believe he won't keep producing at this level, with the possible exception of the Week 9 outing versus Notre Dame.

Explodes in upset win over Memphis Horvath was 9-for-12 passing for 192 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 56-44 win against Memphis. He also had 12 rushes for 211 yards with four touchdowns.

Impact Horvath was unstoppable in Saturday's upset win over Memphis as he accounted for six touchdowns. He tossed for nearly 200 yards and threw two passing touchdowns while completing 75 percent of his passes, but once again his damage came on the ground. He ran for over 200 yards and scored four touchdowns on just 12 rushing attempts, including a 90-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He has accumulated 333 rushing yards and seven touchdown in the past two games alone. After dominating one of the best team's in the conference, there is no reason to believe he cannot continue to produce at a high level throughout the rest of the season.

Impact Horvath put together a strong performance to start the 2024 season as he threw for over 100 yards and tossed two touchdowns. He won the starting job over Braxton Woodson during the offseason, but Woodson played most of the second half with the game out of hand. While Horvath will not be one of the most productive passers in the country, his 12 attempts -- added with Woodson's seven -- show that the Midshipmen may throw the ball a bit more this season.

Listed as starting QB for Week 1 Horvath will be the Navy's starting quarterback Saturday against Bucknell, according to their depth chart updated Sunday.

Impact As early as spring, Horvath was ahead of Braxton Woodson in the race to be Navy's starting quarterback, so them selecting the former as their QB1 for Saturday should not surprise all that much. During 2023, he completed half of his 12 passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Horvath should be able to improve from that year in 2024.
