Amare Thomas News, Rumors, Updates - Houston Cougars | FOX Sports

Productive in loss Thomas caught 5 of 10 targets for 133 yards during Saturday's 21-13 defeat versus Utah.

Impact Thomas was the Cougars' only consistently explosive player Saturday as he gained over 125 yards for the third time this season, this time on just five catches. He had double digit targets for the third time as well and once again stepped up while facing a ranked opponent. He is clearly Conner Weigman's favorite target and he faces a favorable final four regular season matchups following his Week 9 bye.

Excellent in Saturday's win Thomas caught all seven targets for 126 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 35-32 victory over Oklahoma State.

Impact Thomas had his best game of the season in Saturday's ranked win, catching a pair of touchdowns and gaining over 100 yards. He caught all seven of his targets and gained more yards than he had in the last three games combined. He now has six touchdowns this season and will look to add to that total in Saturday's difficult matchup at Utah.

Quiet in Saturday's win Thomas reeled in 2 of 6 targets for 31 yards during Saturday's 35-16 victory over Kansas State.

Impact Thomas had his worst outing of the season Saturday, setting season lows in receptions and yards. He also failed to score in his second straight game after scoring in each of the first four games of the season. Thomas is still the clear top target on the outside, but tight end Patrick Overmyer's breakout has cut into Thomas' workload. Thomas will look to bounce back in a massive game versus Oklahoma State on Saturday.

OCTOBER 12 • ROTOWIRE

Held in check Saturday Thomas totaled four receptions (on eight targets) for 43 yards during Saturday's 27-17 win against UCF.

Impact Thomas had scored at least one touchdown in eight consecutive games dating back to last season, but that streak came to an end Saturday. He was still targeted eight times in the comeback win, but it was a somewhat muted performance for the senior. He'll look to start a new streak Saturday at Kansas State.

OCTOBER 5 • ROTOWIRE

Touchdown streak continues Thomas caught 5 of 6 targets for 50 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 42-28 win over Georgia Southern.

Impact Thomas hauled in another touchdown Saturday, making it four straight games with a touchdown reception. He gained 50 yards on five receptions which is slightly disappointing for the senior, but his connection with Conner Weigman in the redzone continued to pay off. He'll look to extend his scoring streak again Saturday versus UCF.

Scores again Saturday Thomas reeled in 7 of 10 targets for 75 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 28-26 loss versus Texas Tech.

Impact Thomas caught an 11-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter Friday, his third straight game with a touchdown reception. He was tied with Patrick Overmyer with 10 targets and led the team with 75 receiving yards in the close loss. Thomas is averaging six receptions on nine targets through three games this season, and with his touchdown upside he is proving that he's one of the most valuable receivers in the country.

Scores in Saturday's win Thomas reeled in 3 of 5 targets for 29 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 77-6 win against Southern University.

Impact Thomas hauled in an eight-yard touchdown late in the first quarter Saturday, his second touchdown in as many games this season. On its face it appears like a rare low-volume outing for Thomas, but he and the rest of the starting offense were pulled in the second quarter. Conner Weigman will likely rely on Thomas heavily in Friday's difficult matchup at Texas Tech.
