The Cowboys appear ready to make a change under center, turning to freshman Maealiuaki Smith to try and snap a seven-game losing streak.

Figures to remain starter Bowman is expected to remain Oklahoma State's starting quarterback in Week 13, Marcus Trevino of the Stillwater News Press reports.

Impact Bowman has now been benched in back to back games, but comments from head coach Mike Gundy indicate that he's not in the business of playing a younger player just for the heck of it. Despite a dismal 3-7 season, including an 0-7 record in conference play, Gundy appears to be sticking with his starting signal caller to close the season. This is Bowman's last season of eligibility, so that may factor into the decision to keep him as the starter as well.

Impact Bowman threw an interception in his ninth straight game and was also benched for the second week in a row. Maealiuaki Smith also struggled while completing 6-of-8 passes for 92 yards with an interception. With Oklahoma State's season lost, it's possible they look at a different starter when the team returns to play Texas Tech in Week 13.

Bowman has 14 touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions. The depth chart is thin at quarterback, so it's likely Bowman remains the starter when Oklahoma State hosts Arizona State next week.
