Impact In his first game after being named the Big East Player of the Year, Ejiofor dominated in the win over Providence to advance to the conference semifinal. He notched his seventh double-double of the season, scoring 21 points in his third consecutive game. He also dished out five assists and blocked three shots in yet another elite performance. He will take on the winner of Creighton vs. Seton Hall in the semifinal on Friday.

Named Big East POY Ejiofor has been awarded the Big East Player of the Year honor for the 2025-26 season, the conference announced.

Impact The hardware keeps rolling in for Ejiofor. After he secured the Big East Defensive Player of the Year award, he's now been unanimously voted as the conference's player of the year. This comes as little surprise, as he averaged 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 blocks while shooting 54.6 percent from the field for the Johnnies in his senior season. Ejiofor was the centerpiece for head coach Rick Pitino's squad, and he'll be at the center of any Big East Tournament and/or NCAA Tournament runs St. John's in store for the Johnnies.

Impact Ejiofor had a strong outing Tuesday highlighted by his 23 points, his eighth 20-point game this season. He was extremely efficient too as he hit 10 of his 13 attempts from the field and went 3-4 from the free throw line. He was excellent on the defensive end too, chipping in seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the close win. He's now averaging 15.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.9 blocks per game this season and will need to continue to play at a high level in the Big East Tournament and the NCAA Tournament to give the Red Storm a chance of achieving its ultimate goal.
