Through eight games in the 2022-23 campaign, the second-year starter has taken a 6.2-percent step back in his shooting efficiency while attempting 2.7 more field goals per contest compared to last season. Johnson now ranks fifth among West Virginia's starters in points (7.6) and minutes (20.4) per game this season. However, he has provided a solid defensive presence, leading the team with 1.9 steals per game. He'll look to improve upon this inefficient start to the season against Navy on Wednesday.

Impact Matthews made two three-pointers for the second game in a row despite his relatively low number of attempts from beyond the arc. The 6-foot-7 senior also logged a season high in playing time, as this game was within two points until the final five minutes. The Washington transfer has been one of the Mountaineers' top scorers so far this season, logging 10.4 points per game, and he has now converted 43.5 percent of his 2.9 three-point tries over the team's first eight contests.

The 6-foot-10, 285-pound senior averaged just 13.6 minutes per contest despite starting every game leading into Saturday's loss. Bell has now converted 68.2 percent of his 2.8 field-goal tries per game, and his overall value should continue to be capped by his limited playing time.

Impact Toussaint logged his second inefficient shooting performance in as many games, and he has now gone 5-of-18 from the floor overall during this span. The 6-foot senior did make just his seventh three-pointer of the year as just 2.9 of his 9.3 field-goal attempts per game have come from deep range. While he has not started in any of the Mountaineers' eight games, Toussaint still ranks third on the team in minutes (23.5) and points (10.9) per game. The quasi-starter should continue to see a prominent role versus Navy on Wednesday.

Impact Kunkel has more than 10 points across each of his last five games played. The recent output may be surprising but is welcome to some fantasy managers, considering he never logged a double-digit point average across Xavier's previous two seasons.

Impact Freemantle scored 10 or more points during all but one of the eight games Xavier played during November. He did not begin his December well but will receive multiple opportunities to redeem himself.
