Wei Lin - College Basketball News & Rumors

Running it back in Eugene Lin will return to Oregon for the 2026-27 season, per Ryan Clarke of The Oregonian.

Impact Lin initially entered the transfer portal in April, but the former Chinese professional will run it back with the Ducks this season. "Wei just didn't have the offers that he wanted, and felt like he could still make a contribution here," Oregon head coach Dana Altman said. Last season, Wei averaged 6.6 points and 1.7 assists on 34/30/82 shooting splits. He figures to play a rotational role once again in Eugene.

Leaving Oregon Lin has entered the transfer portal, VerbalCommits.com reports.

Impact Lin spent the entire 2025-26 season as a backup option in Oregon's backcourt, but he still found a way to make nine starts out of 30 appearances. He averaged 6.6 points and 1.7 assists across 17.6 minutes per game, so he could get looks from programs nationwide from teams looking to add depth to their backcourt.

Returns from one-game absence Lin (undisclosed) totaled seven points (2-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and four assists in 17 minutes during Saturday's 85-79 win over Washington.

Impact Lin did not play in the blowout loss to Illinois on Tuesday. The 6-4 sophomore came off the bench for his last nine games and averaged 6.7 points and 1.8 assists. Oregon will be the 16-seed in the Big Ten Tournament and take on Maryland on Tuesday. Lin made his first of eight starts in the Jan. 2 win over the Terrapins. He had eight points and two rebounds.

Questionable to play Saturday Lin (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday's game against Washington.

Impact Lin missed his second game of the season against Illinois on Tuesday, and the questionable tag suggests he'll be a game-time call for this one. Lin is averaging 6.6 points and 1.6 assists per game while starting in nine of his 28 appearances.

No-go Tuesday Lin (undisclosed) is listed as out for Tuesday's game against Illinois.

Impact Lin will miss his second game of the season, though the reason for his absence is unknown. The sophomore guard is averaging 6.6 points and 1.5 assists across 16.9 minutes in his last eight games. His next chance to play will come Saturday against Washington in what will be the Ducks' final regular-season game.

Five off the bench in loss Lin registered five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and one rebound over 12 minutes during Sunday's 84-66 loss to Iowa.

Impact Lin lost his job as the starting point guard in Eugene after two straight rough outings, in which he went a combined 2-of-10 shooting the ball. He was solid coming off the bench for the first time since Dec. 28, but didn't move the needle for the Ducks in yet another loss. The only good news for Lin? His replacement at point guard, Drew Carter, didn't do much better; he may get another shot at the starting five sooner rather than later.

Leading scorer in another start Lin racked up 14 points (4-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and two assists in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 90-55 loss to Nebraska.

Impact Lin hadn't done much for the Ducks all season, failing to hit double-digit points before Jan. 5. Since taking the spot of Jackson Sheltstad (hand) in the Ducks' starting five the last four games, he's been a very capable scorer. Lin is averaging 13.8 points in those games while shooting 37 percent from distance. The guard has positioned himself for a bigger role even when Shelstad does return.

Small output off bench Lin had five points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt) and one rebound across 16 minutes during Sunday's 80-57 victory over Omaha.

Impact Lin had a minimal output across a 16 minute appearance. The sophomore guard hasn't offered much in the way of rebounds or assists, so when he's cold from the field -- like he was against Omaha -- he'll tend to have a small impact on the game. Lin will look to remain a regular bench rotational piece as the Ducks enter Big Ten play.
