Justin Champagnie - High minutes despite minor injury Champagnie contributed 13 points (6-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and one block across 37 minutes during Sunday's 63-60 loss to UConn.

Impact Champagnie sustained a hip injury earlier in the week, but it didn't prevent him from suiting up, recording a double-double and playing his minutes in the last seven games. St. John's still fell without point guard and second-leading scorer Posh Alexander (ankle) available, but it looks like Champagnie will be in the clear moving forward, at least.

Aaron Wheeler - Returns to Sunday's game Wheeler (undisclosed) closed with 13 points (5-18 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 28 minutes during Sunday's 63-60 loss to UConn.

Impact Wheeler went to the locker room in the first half of Sunday's matchup, but he was able to return to the game down the stretch. He tied for the second-highest scoring total on the team but shot just 14.3 percent from beyond the arc and missed a potential game-tying three-pointer in the closing moments. While the nature of Wheeler's injury wasn't revealed, it wouldn't be surprising to see him available going forward.

Aaron Wheeler - Heads to locker room Wheeler left Sunday's contest against Connecticut due to an undisclosed injury, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reports.

Impact St. John's is already without Posh Alexander (ankle), so if Wheeler is unable to return they will be without two of their top backcourt players. Dylan Addae-Wusu, Stef Smith and Montez Mathis are all candidates for increased role for the duration of Wheeler's absence.

Montez Mathis - Not starting Sunday Mathis isn't in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Connecticut.

Impact Mathis has started all 23 games this season for St. John's but will exit the starting five against the Huskies. There's been no injury announcement, so he'll presumably be available off the bench. Stef Smith will start in his place.

Stef Smith - Draws start Sunday Smith will start Sunday's contest against Connecticut.

Impact Montez Mathis will shift to the bench while Smith draws his first start since Dec. 3. Smith started the first seven games of the season and averaged 9.0 points, 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 23.6 minutes during those contests.
