Ex-Troy basketball star commits to Big Ten school, reports say Tayton Conerway was Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in 2024-25
Joining the Hoosiers Conerway has announced his commitment to Indiana ahead of the 2025-26 season, Tobias Bass of The Athletic reports.
Impact Conerway will make the move to the Big Ten after winning the Sunbelt Player of the Year this past season. The 6-foot-3 senior started in all 34 games this past season with Troy, averaging 14.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.9 steals on 30.3 minutes per game. The Hoosiers will hope his skill on-ball defending translates to a power-five team this upcoming season.

Impact Conerway is in the transfer portal along with some of his other Troy teammates following a run to the NCAA Tournament. Conerway put up some big numbers this season averaging 14.2 points, 4.8 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals per contest. His ability to defend on the perimeter and make good decisions on offense should land him on a power conference team next season.

Impact Conerway shined throughout the Sun Belt tournament, averaging 20.3 points as the Trojans marched to an automatic tournament bid. The senior did so with tremendous efficiency as well shooting 52-percent from the field across three games. Conerway will have to continue to perform in high-stakes tournament settings if the Trojans are to have a chance at an upset.
