McCarty makes 1st additions to new Evansville staff

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) New Evansville coach Walter McCarty has hired Terrence Commodore and Chris Sparks as assistants.

McCarty also named Logan Baumann director of basketball operations on Tuesday.

There is still one more opening on his staff.

Commodore spent the last three seasons working on the staff at Eastern Kentucky, his alma mater. He worked previously as a graduate assistant at Kentucky.

Sparks has 17 years of experience, working most recently as the North American Director at Australia Basketball Travelers, an organization that provides North American coaching expertise to basketball coaches from Australia. He also has worked at Utah Valley and Valparaiso, where he played in college.

Baumann was the senior director of video operations at Louisville the last three seasons.
