Alabama signs 2 guards, forward for class of 2019

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama coach Avery Johnson has landed a three-player signing class for 2019.

The Crimson Tide announced Wednesday the signing of forward Juwan Gary and guards Jaylen Forbes and Jaden Shackelford. All three are from outside the state of Alabama.

The class was ranked No. 11 by ESPN.com and the three signees are rated as four-star prospects.

Gary is playing his senior season at West Charlotte High School in North Carolina. He was the 2A Player of the Year in South Carolina last season, leading the team to its first state title. He averaged 20.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals as a junior.

Forbes averaged 25.9 points as a junior at Florence High School in Mississippi.

Shackelford averaged 25.1 points last season for Hesperia (California) High School.
