Seth Trimble scored 19 points and No. 20 North Carolina held off upset-minded Georgia Tech for a 68-65 victory in the ACC opener for both teams Saturday

Solid display Saturday Trimble had 13 points (3-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 29 minutes during Saturday's 87-69 victory over Hawaii.

Impact Trimble scored nearly half of his points from the charity stripe, but the floor general also supplied solid numbers in other categories, mainly the assists and steals department. Trimble recorded a season-high mark in assists in this win, and he's been excellent as a scorer with 13 or more points in each of his appearances.

Scores 19 points in loss Trimble had 19 points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 10-10 FT) and four rebounds over 33 minutes during Friday's 92-89 loss to Kansas.

Impact The Tar Heels reacted late and couldn't mount a comeback in this marquee matchup against Kansas, but Trimble had a strong showing in the scoring column. He led UNC in scoring even ahead of players such as RJ Davis and Elliot Cadeau. Trimble has scored at least 15 points in his first two appearances this season.

Impact With RJ Davis sitting out of this game with a back injury, Trimble put the team on his back and carried the load. He was certainly dynamic scoring the ball and clearly showed a lot of improvement in his game going into his junior season. Whether or not Trimble starts when Davis is healthy is another story, but certainly has made his case to coach Hubert Davis on why he deserves serious minutes this season. UNC begins their regular season on Monday against Elon.
