Impact RJ Davis led the way for the Tar Heels with a 20-point performance, but Trimble made his presence felt off the bench with an excellent outing off the bench. Trimble has been making a strong case to return to the starting five since he's scored at least 15 points in two of his three appearances since being moved to the second unit.

Impact Upon returning from an upper-body injury in early-January, Trimble came off the bench for a five-game stretch, over which he saw a decline in production with just 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds. He's returned to the starting five for UNC's last two contests, however, recording a double-double in each while seeing a significant uptick in shot volume. The green light may not be on forever after an inefficient night Tuesday, however, as Trimble is now shooting a career-low 42.1 percent from the field.

Impact With RJ Davis sitting out of this game with a back injury, Trimble put the team on his back and carried the load. He was certainly dynamic scoring the ball and clearly showed a lot of improvement in his game going into his junior season. Whether or not Trimble starts when Davis is healthy is another story, but certainly has made his case to coach Hubert Davis on why he deserves serious minutes this season. UNC begins their regular season on Monday against Elon.
