Wayne McKinney - Misses first game of season McKinney did not suit up for Saturday's 101-74 loss to Gonzaga after suffering a foot/ankle injury in San Diego's previous contest, Jim Meehan of The Spokesman-Review reports.
Impact It was a tough loss for San Diego against the best team in the West Coast Conference, as McKinney is the team's primary point guard and second-leading scorer at 14.4 ppg. As a result of McKinney's absence, Deuce Turner saw more ball-handling duties, while Kevin Patton stepped into the starting lineup for the first time this season. McKinney's next chance to return will be Thursday against San Francisco.
