Commits to SMU Brumbaugh (pro draft prep) has committed to SMU, according to his announcement Sunday.

Impact In what was a quiet offseason for SMU thus far, the team's first big splash is one of the portal's best commodities, so good that there is at least some legitimate consideration that he forgoes his remaining collegiate eligibility for the 2026 NBA Draft. Brumbaugh averaged 19.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.9 three-pointers made and 1.6 steals across 33 of Tulane's games last season. If he does not enter the 2026 NBA Draft, the Mustangs have got themselves an excellent guard to shore up their backcourt.

Applying for draft now Brumbaugh will apply for the NBA draft after entering the transfer portal, Guerry Smith of The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate reports.

Impact Brumbaugh entered the portal on Monday, and he'll now also test the waters in the NBA draft process. The junior guard has played for Tulane in the last two seasons, averaging 19.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals on 36 minutes per game in the 2025-26 campaign. He'll have one year of eligibility remaining if he decides to stay at the collegiate level.
