Impact Newman started in his second consecutive game to begin the season, and he led the Boilermakers in playing time Thursday. While he had plenty of volume against Clemson, he wasn't particularly efficient, converting on just 42.9 percent of his shots from the floor. Although he's left some opportunities on the table, Newman's usage has been encouraging over the first two games of the year.

Impact Thompson didn't have a very high shot volume Wednesday, but he attempted 10 field goals in Thursday's contest as he started his second straight game to begin the year. He was one of the team's top scorers with 15 points, but he also led the team with five turnovers as the Boilermakers were unable to keep up with the Tigers.

Impact Williams was nursing a hip pointer heading into Wednesday's season opener, but he started against Liberty and led the team on the boards. He got help in the frontcourt from Zach Edey off the bench, but Williams is a strong contender to lead the conference in rebounding during the 2020-21 campaign.
