Impact The Irish have shifted to a four-guard lineup that has Atkinson at center and Nate Laszewski coming off the bench, and so far that alignment has worked to Atkinson's benefit. In the six games since the transition, Atkinson has posted averages of 13.3 points and 7.8 rebounds. Meanwhile, Notre Dame appears tournament-bound in what has otherwise been a down year for the ACC, though the Irish could solidify their spot with a win over Pittsburgh in the regular season finale.

Steps up without Laszewski Atkinson finished Wednesday's 63-57 victory over Louisville with 17 points (6-12 FG, 5-7 FT), 15 rebounds and one steal across 37 minutes.
Impact The Irish were down regular starting center Nate Laszewski in this contest due to a leg injury, so it was Atkinson who functioned as the primary big man in a four-guard lineup. Laszewski was limited to just five minutes in the previous game as well, so it's no surprise Atkinson has recorded back-to-back double-doubles. His streak of double-doubles is now at three, and he has five total on the season. Look for Atkinson to continue to see greater usage in Laszewski's absence, though the Irish will face a superior rebounding team in Clemson this Saturday.
