Cole Certa scores career-high 37 points and Notre Dame tops Georgia Tech 89-74
Cole Certa scored a career-high 37 points, including a career-high seven 3-pointers, and Notre Dame rolled past Georgia Tech 89-74 to snap a five-game losing streak

Cole Certa - Explodes for 37 points in win
Certa contributed 37 points (12-20 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and three rebounds in 40 minutes during Saturday's 89-74 victory over Georgia Tech.
Impact
Certa has been a go-to scorer for the Irish this season, and he showcased his dominance once again in the win over Tech. The 6-foot-5 sophomore's 37 points were his second time this season with 30 or more points, and he's now averaging 21 points in the last six games. He should continue to be a problem for other teams moving forward, and he'll look to keep his momentum going at Pitt next Saturday.

Cole Certa - Available vs. GT
Certa (undisclosed) is available for Saturday's game against Georgia Tech.
Impact
Considering that Certa's previous status was probable for Saturday, his updated availability against Georgia Tech should not be so surprising, though the earlier update reasonably raised some concern. He has become a regular starter in conference action and has rewarded the decision by averaging 17.8 points across his last five games. What makes Certa's scoring outstanding is that most of it has come from three-pointers, with the five-game span including 4.0 3PM on a 37.0 percent clip.

Jalen Haralson - Out vs. GT
Haralson (ankle) is out for Saturday's game against Georgia Tech.
Impact
For only the second time this season, Haralson will sit out a game, due to a sprained ankle per Tom Noie of the South Bend Tribune. The freshman has logged a relatively clean health bill this season, with his 24 games and 22 starts to prove it. He has proved to be a scoring dynamo in conference games, with 16.3 points per game on an efficient 52.9 field goal percentage, so losing him will be big in what is to be a matchup between injury-riddled teams. Haralson will have a week to recover before Notre Dame's subsequent game, currently scheduled for Feb. 21 at Pittsburgh.

Cole Certa - Deemed probable
Certa (undisclosed) is listed as probable for Notre Dame's game at Georgia Tech.
Impact
Certa has yet to miss a game this season, and he's started the last seven contests for the Irish, averaging 15.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in that span. The sophomore guard should still play barring any setbacks, but he'll be worth keeping an eye on.

Jalen Haralson - Questionable to play Saturday
Haralson (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday's game against Georgia Tech.
Impact
Haralson might be in danger of missing a game for the second time this season, and for the first time since Nov. 7. Not having Haralson around would be a huge blow for Notre Dame, as they're already missing Markus Burton (ankle). Haralson is averaging 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in ACC play in 2025-26.

Jalen Haralson - Goes for 23 points Tuesday
Haralson recorded 23 points (9-13 FG, 5-8 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 89-81 loss to SMU.
Impact
Haralson continues to make an impact as a scorer for the Fighting Irish, and he led the way in this loss to a strong Mustangs team. Haralson has been on a tear of late after scoring 20 or more points in three of his last five appearances. He's averaging 16.6 points per game since the beginning of January.

Braeden Shrewsberry - Puts up 18 points in loss
Shrewsberry logged 18 points (5-14 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Saturday's 82-79 loss to Florida State.
Impact
Shrewsberry bounced back after scoring just eight points in the loss to Louisville, and more often than not, he's been a reliable scoring weapon for Notre Dame. The junior guard, one of the top scoring alternatives due to the absence of Markus Burton (ankle), has scored in double digits in four of his last five appearances, averaging 16.6 points per game over that stretch. Perhaps more importantly, he's managed to end the slump he went through between the end of December and mid-January. He had averaged just 7.2 points per game in six outings between Dec. 30 and Jan. 21.

Cole Certa - Goes for 18 points
Certa recorded 18 points (6-18 FG, 5-14 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 76-65 loss to Louisville.
Impact
Certa has started in each of Notre Dame's last five games, but he's scored in double digits in just two of those contests. The inconsistencies he's had of late limit his upside, but as long as he continues in a starting role, he'll have opportunities to produce in a depleted backcourt that continues to miss Markus Burton (ankle).

Markus Burton - Uncertainty regarding return
Burton (ankle) has recently shed both his walking boot, and then his brace, but if or when he'll return this season remains uncertain, Tom Noie of the South Bend Tribune reports.
Impact
Burton suffered the injury in the 10th game of Notre Dame's season back on Dec. 5, and while it didn't require surgery, it was clear he was going to miss a significant amount of time. Nearly two months later, Burton still doesn't have an official timetable, and the current state of the Notre Dame program is undoubtedly playing a factor in that. The Irish have lost seven of their last eight games to fall to 2-7 in conference play, and even with a big late-season run, they would likely be on the outside looking in with respect to an NCAA Tournament berth. Burton would technically be eligible for a redshirt if he is injured before 30 percent of his team's season is complete, and a late-season return to a team with little hope would jeopardize that. If Burton chooses to remain sidelined, however, he would still have two years of eligibility remaining -- that's two more years with a potential fresh start, as well as plenty of NIL-earning potential.

Cole Certa - Drops 34 in 2-OT loss
Certa produced 34 points (10-19 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 9-11 FT), two rebounds and one assist in 40 minutes during Tuesday's 100-97 2OT loss to Virginia.
Impact
Certa has more than doubled his minutes and quadrupled his scoring average in his second season with the Irish, and while most will remember Notre Dame giving up a big lead here, the 6-5 guard now has a career day in the books. He admittedly doesn't offer much peripherally outside of scoring, but now we have a ceiling, at least when he's making regular starts.

Brady Koehler - Career day against Virginia
Koehler recorded 16 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 10 rebounds, four blocks and three steals across 42 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 100-97 2OT loss to Virginia.
Impact
Koehler was largely off the fantasy radar in non-conference play, but a recent lineup reshuffle has seen the freshman in an expanded role of late. He scored 17 in a Jan. 17 matchup at Virginia Tech, and proceeded to enter the starting lineup in Notre Dame's next game. While he was limited offensively in games against UNC and Boston College, Koehler put his stamp on this one with his first career double-double and plenty of peripheral stats to boot, though it's worth noting the two extra overtime periods helped his case. Nonetheless, this is a Notre Dame team in complete limbo without star guard Markus Burton, so coach Micah Shrewsberry will continue to experiment with different lineups, and that includes seeing what he has in this year's freshman class.

Braeden Shrewsberry - Comes alive in tight win
Shrewsberry ended Saturday's 68-64 win over Boston College with 22 points (8-17 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 33 minutes.
Impact
Shrewsberry had been slumping of late and was coming off four straight outings in single digits. However, he came to life when the Fighting Irish needed him the most, and this 22-point output was his second-best mark of the entire 2025-26 campaign. Notre Dame need Shrewsberry to be at his best offensively as long as Markus Burton (ankle) remains sidelined.
