Braeden Shrewsberry - Leads Fighting Irish in scoring Shrewsberry posted 19 points (5-8 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Friday's 102-70 win over Detroit.

Impact Notre Dame didn't have problems in an easy win over Detroit, and while Markus Burton is often the player who carries the team offensively, this time it was Shrewsberry who got it done. The junior was limited to only two points in the season opener, but he bounced back admirably here. When fully healthy, he should operate as Notre Dame's second scoring option behind Burton most of the time.

Impact Certa came off the bench in the season opener but was excellent as a scoring weapon, surpassing the 20-point plateau for the first time in his career and showing he's ready to contribute after a freshman year in which he didn't play much. Certa will likely make a strong push for more minutes if he's able to settle himself as a reliable scoring weapon in the second unit for the Fighting Irish.

Impact Towt didn't provide a lot of value on offense after missing three of his four field goals, but he was a dominant presence on the glass. He's not going to crash the boards for 19 rebounds on a regular basis, but he's widely expected to be among the best rebounders in the ACC if he stays healthy.

Markus Burton - Experimenting with new roles Notre Dame's team is working on getting Burton more off-ball sequences for its 2025-26 season, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Impact Notre Dame's 2024-25 season saw Burton log 21.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, his statistical rates' high output a result of the team having few options to work with. This season, it appears they are testing Logan Imes, Jalen Haralson and Sir Mohammed more at point guard. By playing them next to Burton, perhaps they can ease his on-ball usage. While the ND superstar's assist numbers may dip, his scoring likely stays the same or slightly increases. More importantly, Burton being less on the ball may mean less risk for injury, which is what prevented him from maximizing his 2024-25 season's production.
