Hopeful starter for IU Stewart is a candidate to start at shooting guard for the Hoosiers in the 2021-22 season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Stewart did not see the court for the entire 2020-21 campaign for reasons never specified, but he'll ultimately preserve what was a free year of eligibility after last seeing game action for UT-Martin in 2019-20. While with the Skyhawks, Stewart was a fantastic perimeter shooter, averaging 19.2 ppg while knocking down 34.8 percent of his three-pointers (he made 2.8 per contest). The hope is that his outside shooting can transfer over to the new-look Hoosiers, as Indiana was a bottom-third team in three-point shooting accuracy a year ago. Stewart should be able to focus on that part of his game, as Trayce Jackson-Davis will ultimately draw a ton of double teams in the post, while Pittsburgh transfer Xavier Johnson will be bringing the ball up the court. Whether this translates to fantasy relevance outside of Big Ten-only formats remains to be seen, but there's certainly potential to be an individual category booster this season. Of course, that's provided he can hold off the talented four-star freshman Tamar Bates, who happens to play the same position.

Hoosiers add size as 7-foot center decides to transfer

The Indiana Hoosiers have added Michael Durr to their roster after the 7-foot center decided to transfer from South Florida

Not dressed for warmups Stewart (not injury related) is not dressed for Saturday's game against Michigan, according to Dustin Dopirak of The Athletic.
Impact Stewart has missed the entire season, so the fact that he's not available in this one shouldn't surprise anyone. His next chance to feature will come Mar. 2 at Michigan State.
FEBRUARY 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Remains unavailable Stewart (not injury related) is practicing but still not yet available to play in games, Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Impact Stewart has been dealing with a lot of different things regarding acclimation according to coach Archie Miller. There is still not timetable for return, but it seems at least a couple weeks away. Stewart hasn't played in a game since Feb. 27 of last season.
FEBRUARY 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Not playing Saturday Stewart (not injury related) is not playing Saturday against Michigan State, according to Mike Schumann of The Daily Hoosier.
Impact Stewart was seen in street clothes prior to Saturday's tip-off, and this means he has yet to make his season debut. His next chance to feature will come Feb. 24 at Rutgers. Stewart hasn't played since Feb. 27 last year.
FEBRUARY 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Still not ready to play Stewart (not injury related) did not travel with the team for Saturday's game against Ohio State, Tyler Tachman of Inside the Hall reports.
Impact Stewart transferred to Indiana in December but still doesn't appear ready to play despite the D-1 council granting eligibility for all transfers during this season. The 6-5 guard remains without a firm timetable to return but hopefully can see some action down the stretch as the Hoosiers continue to push for their place in March.

Not yet available for Hoosiers Stewart, who committed to join Indiana in December as a transfer from Tennessee- Martin, has arrived in Bloomington and enrolled in classes, but he has yet to receive clearance to...
Impact Stewart entered the transfer portal after the season started, but he never appeared in a game for Tennessee-Martin before he moved on to Indiana. As a result, he's hoping to compete for the Hoosiers at some point in 2020-21, but according to Osterman, the NCAA has yet to make a clear ruling on his eligibility status. While he remains away from the team back in Bloomington, Stewart can safely be ruled out for road games Thursday at Wisconsin and Sunday at Nebraska. Even if he's cleared to resume practicing with the team next week, his status will likely remain in limbo until the NCAA provides a resolution.
JANUARY 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Eligible for 2020-21 season Stewart will be immediately eligible for the 2020-21 season, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports.
Impact Stewart announced his intentions to join Indiana on Tuesday as a transfer from Tennessee-Martin. It worked out to be good timing with the D-1 council announcing on Wednesday that all transfers would be immediately eligible this season. Stewart averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game last season, so he figures to see a pretty significant role as soon as he is ready to play in a game.
DECEMBER 16, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Headed to Indiana Stewart committed Tuesday to join Indiana as a graduate transfer from Tennessee-Martin, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact After announcing his intention in late November to leave Tennesee-Martin ahead of the 2020-21 season, Stewart opted to continue his career at Indiana, bypassing offers from Memphis, Kansas State and Arkansas, among other major-conference programs. Due to the timing of his transfer, Stewart won't suit up for the Hoosiers in 2020-21, but he'll be able to compete immediately in 2021-22 for what would be his redshirt junior season. The 6-foot-5 guard should at the very least capture a rotational role for the Hoosiers after averaging 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game for Tennessee-Martin in 2019-20.
DECEMBER 15, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Pursuing transfer Stewart entered the transfer portal Monday as a graduate transfer, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports.
Impact Since Stewart is entering the portal while the 2020-21 season is already underway, he would likely have to wait until 2021-22 to play at his next school, even though he's already earned his degree. According to Goodman, Stewart is leaving the door open for a return to Tennessee-Martin, so he could stay at the school if he doesn't like his transfer options. Stewart should at least have some degree of interest from other Division I programs after averaging 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in 2019-20.
