Nordin Kapic - Opens with 13 points Kapic accumulated 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 18 minutes during Tuesday's 91-72 win over North Carolina A&T.
Impact Kapic is really the only frontcourt starter for the Gamecocks. The 6-8 senior transferred in from San Diego where he averaged 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 33 starts. The native of Austria should see plenty of minutes and be a factor on the glass.

Cam Scott - Redshirting 2025-26 season Scott will redshirt the 2025-26 season, Jackson Castellano of The State Newspaper reports.
Impact Scott has decided to redshirt his sophomore campaign ahead of the Gamecocks' 2025-26 season. The 6-foot-6 guard played 26 games last season, so he'll have three years of eligibility remaining when he returns to the court next campaign.

EJ Walker - In sweats during warmups Walker (undisclosed) is not warming up ahead of Tuesday's season opener against North Carolina A&T, David Cloninger of The Charleston Post and Courier reports.
Impact The news also indicated that Walker is "not hurt, not in trouble, not suspended, not sick." The freshman forward's status should be determined now before tip-off. He will likely be a deeper rotator even if he can play.

The expectation is that coach Lamont Paris will address is after the game, but Scott appears like he will miss the opener for whatever reason. Teammate EJ Walker is reportedly in the same boat. Scott was hoping to build on a decent freshman campaign and see more playing time as a sophomore.
