Heading to College Station Shelby has committed to play for Texas A&M for the 2025-26 season, per Cameron Ohnysty of USA Today.

Impact Shelby will join the Aggies following a single season as a walk-on with Kansas. The 6-foot-3 guard previously averaged 3.9 points in 11.8 minutes per game for Rice during the 2023-24 season. Shelby will retain a single year of eligibility with A&M.

Enters transfer portal Shelby (redshirt) has entered the NCAA's transfer portal, according to Grant Grubbs of On3.com.

Impact Shelby has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining. Prior to Kansas, Vanderbilt and Rice included him. Though the Jayhawks never used Shelby, between his other seasons, he logged 44 games.

The 6-foot-3 junior appeared in 30 games with Rice last season, averaging 3.9 points, one rebound and 0.8 assists on 11.8 minutes per game. Shelby is likely to be a depth piece for KU this season.

Impact Shelby never managed to break through as a freshman with Vanderbilt last season. The 6-foot-3 guard appeared in 14 games with no starts, averaging 3.7 points and 0.5 rebounds on 32.4 percent field-goal shooting. Shelby did log two double-digit scoring performances in limited playing time Dec. 30 against Southeastern Louisiana and Jan. 10 versus Tennessee. However, he did not appear in the final 11 games of the season, which likely precipitated his decision to enter the portal this offseason.

Misses Thursday with illness Shelby was unavailable Thursday night against Fresno State due to an apparent illness, Robbie Weinstein of 247Sports reports.

Impact Shelby has only appeared in two of the first six games this season. The 6-3 freshman is not expected to regularly be a part of the rotation but should have a legit shot to return to the bench for a meeting with VCU on Nov. 30.
