Rylan Griffen - Dealing with hand injury Griffen is dealing with a hand injury, per Luke Evangelist of TexAgs.
Impact Head coach Bucky McMillan noted Griffen did not play in Texas A&M's most recent scrimmage due to a hand injury. The 6-foot-5 guard opted to return to the Aggies following a temporary restraining order granting an extra year of eligibility. He will most likely have a starting role with the team once again this season. It remains unclear how long his hand issue will sideline him ahead of Texas A&M's Nov. 3 season opener against Alabama State.

Jalen Shelley - Standing out for A&M Shelley has been standing out for Texas A&M during the preseason, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Shelley earned interest from Texas A&M after his 2025-26 season for Loyola Marymount, who got 13.3 points and 6.6 rebounds averaged across his 25 starts with Lions. In the college basketball landscape, he is a rare forward both tall (6-foot-9 and able to operate the three, which would allow starting roles to both Mackenzie Mgbako, Cade Phillips or any of his other frontcourt teammates. The question is whether Shelley can replicate his previous success with A&M, but if him standing out provides any indication, there is definitely a chance he can.

Mackenzie Mgbako - Notably stronger in preseason Mgbako has drawn strong preseason praise for his improved strength during the offseason, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Mgbako's latest update is more than a positive offseason indicator after he was fully cleared from his foot injury in July. If the added physicality carries into the season, he should be positioned for excellence with Texas A&M next season. In seven starts last season, Mgbako averaged 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers made, showing no immediate signs of slowing down after transferring from Indiana to Texas A&M.

Rylan Griffen - Eligible to re-join Aggies Griffen is now eligible to re-join Texas A&M after he was granted a TRO for an extra year of eligibility, per Travis L. Brown of The Bryan-College Station Eagle.
Impact Griffen is coming off a career year with the Aggies in 2025-26. The guard averaged 11.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals on 45/77/40 shooting splits. His return would be absolutely massive for Texas A&M, and while nothing is official yet, the door is now open for Griffen to return to College Station.

Impact Pope will join the Aggies after getting an extra year of eligibility following the recent injunction. The 6-foot-1 guard played the last two seasons with Texas, and he averaged 13.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in the more recent of the two. He's now set to be a leader of the backcourt for A&M.

Cade Phillips - Starting in exhibition game Phillips (shoulder) is apart of the starting five in Texas A&M's first exhibition game in the Bahamas on Monday.
Impact Phillips will return to action for the first time since December 6 after undergoing left shoulder surgery, which sidelined him for a majority of the 2025-26 season. The 6'9 junior comes over from fellow SEC foe Tennessee, where he averaged 3.8 points and 4 rebounds per game in 10 games a season ago.

Impact Shelley will make his first appearance in an Aggies' jersey since transferring from Loyola Marymount this past offseason. In 25 games with LMU, the junior averaged 13.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Shelley joins the starting five alongside Mackenzie Mgbako, Cade Phillips, PJ Haggerty and Jalen Reece on Monday.
