Rocket Watts - Sidelined until mid-November Watts (hip) remains out until mid-November, Stefan Krajisnik of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports.
Impact Watts underwent a hip procedure in June to address an issue that bothered him last season. The Michigan State transfer apparently still has a ways to go in his recovery and may not be ready for the start of the 2021-22 season. Even if he does manage to make it back early in the campaign, Watts seems likely to be limited out of the gates as he catches up on the conditioning aspect.

Tolu Smith - Out until late November Smith (foot) will remain sidelined until late November, Stefan Krajisnik of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports.
Impact Smith's X-ray on Tuesday indicated progress on his foot issue, but the sophomore center apparently still has a way to go before he will be cleared to retake the floor. The big man racked up 12.6 points and 8.5 rebounds over 30.7 minutes per game a season ago and figures to handle a big role again this season once he's healthy and up to speed on conditioning.

Jaykwon Walton - Commits to Bulldogs for 2022 Walton has committed to Mississippi State for the Class of 2022, Paul Jones of 247 Sports reports.
Impact Walton began his collegiate career in the SEC with Georgia, but various ailments led to him only seeing the floor for seven games in his freshman season before ultimately taking a redshirt. Two games into the 2020-21 season, Walton elected to enter the transfer portal. He'll play out this season at Shelton Community College before officially enrolling with the Bulldogs next year. Walton is a 6-6 combo guard that can play the two or the three. Once considered a four-star prospect, Walton has a chance to build experience and become an immediate contributor for Ben Howland and co. in 2022-23.
