GAME LOG

Double-doubles again Williams notched 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt), 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Saturday's 73-68 victory over North Carolina State.
Impact Williams has been a consistent performer for Louisville this season and has registered two double-doubles over his last three games. The big man has been a constant menace on both ends of the court and is averaging 9.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game so far.
DECEMBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Puts up double-double Saturday Williams amassed 13 points (3-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, one block and four steals in 30 minutes during Saturday's 63-55 win over Maryland.
Impact Williams has been on the rise in recent games and delivered another strong performance on both ends of the court, though it's worth mentioning he was wildly inefficient with his shooting. Williams has scored in double digits in two of his last three games, and he has grabbed double-digit rebounds in four of his six appearances thus far.
NOVEMBER 28, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Comes close to double-double Williams chipped in 11 points (3-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two steals over 28 minutes during Saturday's 73-67 victory over Detroit.
Impact Williams has yet to record his first double-double of the season, but at least he scored in double digits for the first time in this one. He needs to be more consistent on the offensive end of the court to have more upside, as he's already one of the best rebounders in the conference with 9.3 boards per game.
NOVEMBER 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Pulls down 13 boards Williams ended Tuesday's 72-60 victory over Southern University with six points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 13 rebounds, one block and one steal across 24 minutes.
Impact Williams was a beast on the glass and while his scoring numbers were not very high, that might have been due to the nature of a game where the Cardinals thrashed their opponents. Williams should be back in the starting lineup sooner than later, presumably for Friday's game against Furman.
NOVEMBER 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Not starting opener Williams is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Southern.
Impact Williams got beat to the punch by incoming Junior College transfer Sydney Curry. The 6-11 big man played just three games last season due to a foot injury but looked back to normal in a scrimmage held a few weeks ago. Williams stands three inches taller than Curry and certainly will have more of a presence in the paint, however, Curry averaged 12.9 points per game last year and offers a better scoring option for head coach Chris Mack and the Cardinals.

Looks healthy in scrimmage Williams (foot) "looked 100 percent" in a team scrimmage Saturday, scoring eight points on 3-of-10 shooting, freelance college basketball writer Jeff Greer reports.
Impact Williams played in just three games last season, as he tended to an injured foot early and aggravated the injury upon his return. After a full offseason to recover, the fifth-year senior appears to be playing without limitations. He was praised for his passing ability in this contest, and even had a coast-to-coast dunk in transition. All signs are pointing to Williams drawing the start at the five, with Jae'Lyn Withers occupying the power forward spot next to him.
OCTOBER 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Out 4-6 weeks after injuring foot again Williams will miss 4-6 weeks after re-injuring his foot in last Saturday's game against Duke.
Impact Williams was just starting to get back in the swing of things after missing the first three months with this foot injury. This was just his third game back and now it appears like Williams will miss the rest of the season, unless Louisville is able to make it all the way to the Final Four. They will have to go forward with another hole in the frontcourt again.
MARCH 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Exits with foot issue Williams suffered a foot injury Saturday against Duke and will not return, Jeff Greer of the Floyd Street Tribune reports.
Impact Williams underwent foot surgery in November and didn't make his season debut until February 20. In just his third game, his foot flared up again, which seems like a rather worrisome sign. Whether or not he's at risk of missing Wednesday's game against Virginia Tech is not yet clear.
FEBRUARY 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
10 boards in first start Williams had six points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists across 26 minutes in Tuesday's 69-57 victory over Notre Dame.
Impact Williams returned from a foot injury to make his season debut Saturday against the Tar Heels, but the senior ramped up his production across the board Tuesday. It appears he'll be back in his starting role, which will likely result in immediate fantasy consideration for players in need of rebounding help down the stretch.
FEBRUARY 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Starting on Tuesday Williams is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Notre Dame.
Impact Williams will get the start on Tuesday with David Johnson not suiting up. Williams made his season debut last Saturday and had four points and three rebounds in 17 minutes. It's not clear if Williams will return to the starting lineup in the future when Johnson returns.
FEBRUARY 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Logs 17 minutes in season debut Williams had four points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, an assist and a steal across 17 minutes in his season debut Saturday against North Carolina.
Impact There wasn't a whole lot of positive to take away from Louisville's 45-pound defeat, but the return of Williams from a long-term foot injury gives the Cardinals reason for optimism moving forward. Louisville hasn't been with a fully healthy frontcourt all season, and the return of a former starter that put up 8.5 points and 6.1 rebounds a season ago provides a massive boost. It wouldn't be shocking to see Williams carve a starting role out before it's all said and done, and with Louisville owning a relatively safe position in the NCAA Tournament at this time, coach Chris Mack will have some leeway to experiment with his player alignment.
FEBRUARY 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Set for season debut Williams (foot) will make his first appearance on the court this season Saturday against North Carolina, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Williams played a key role in the rotation for the Cardinals last season and likely would have held a starting spot this season if he was healthy. Given the amount of time the senior has missed due to injury, he will presumably see a short run Saturday and over at least the next few games as he begins to ramp up his in-game conditioning.
FEBRUARY 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to limited practice work Williams (foot) has been doing individual work on the side in practice recently according to assistant coach Dino Gaudio, Shannon Russell of The Athletic reports.
Impact Williams has been slowly working his way back from foot surgery back in early November. He has been doing some shooting drills recently and did one Live drill on Sunday. This is obviously good news, but Williams is likely still a couple weeks away from returning to the lineup for a game. This situation will be monitored closely to see how Williams progresses in practice.

Peoples sets bowl rushing mark, App State tops North Texas

Camerun Peoples ran for a bowl-record 317 yards and tied a record with five rushing touchdowns as Appalachian State beat North Texas 56-28 in the Myrtle Beach Bowl
DECEMBER 21, 2020 • Associated Press
Headed for surgery Williams (foot) is expected to miss at least 12 weeks of the 2020 basketball season due to surgery needed on his right foot, Shannon Russell of The Athletic reports.
Impact It was reported last week that Williams had not been practicing due to an ankle issue but there has been confirmation he's actually dealing with a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot and is undergoing a surgical procedure next week to repair the break. Williams primarily played a role off the bench although he was particularly effective averaging 8.5 points and 6.1 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game. Williams is the team's top returning scorer and rebounder from last year and was expected to step in as the starting center for the 2020-21 season. That role will now likely be handled by Aidan Igiehon (shoulder) until Williams can return likely sometime in February.
NOVEMBER 7, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Not practicing Williams has not practiced lately due to an ankle injury, Shannon Russell of The Athletic reports.
Impact It's unclear when Williams suffered the injury, but Russell reported he's set to return to practice in a week or two. The center averaged 8.5 points and 6.1 rebounds over 18.7 minutes per game last season. After starting only three games last season, Williams will serve as the starting center with Steven Enoch moving on.
