Impact The reason for Mitchell's absence wasn't initially disclosed, but it was apparently due to "precautionary" reasons as he tends to a groin injury. Coach David Cox believes he'll be a full participant in practice this week, which suggests he should be available for the start of the season. The sophomore center served as the primary big man for the Rams last year, starting 23 of 25 games and posting averages of 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. His next official chance to take the court will be a Nov. 4 exhibition matchup against Johnson & Wales, and the team officially opens up its season Nov. 9 against Boston University.

Impact It was the big man's third double-double of the year, all of which have come over the past month. He's reached double-digit points in six straight and nine of his last 10, and that alone probably makes him appealing where center eligible, but if Mitchell can continue working the glass, he'll have value regardless of position.

He's well worth a look where center eligible in Tier 2 formats.

Career-high 23 against UMass Mitchell erupted for a career-high 23 points (10-13 FG, 3-9 FT) Wednesday against Massachusetts, adding six boards, a block and a steal.

Impact A performance seemingly out of nowhere, as Mitchell had scored only eight points total in the Rams last two games and reached double-digits only three times prior. He's been a reasonably steady source of rebounds, but not much else, and a repeat outing Saturday against George Mason would come as a mild surprise given his normally low usage.
