Impact Ellis picked up the start while Jahvon Quinerly sat out due to undisclosed reasons, but given coach Nate Oats used Quinerly off the bench multiple times last year, it wouldn't be outlandish to see this starting lineup continue into non-conference play. Ellis did start seven games in 32 appearances last season, and the JUCO transfer shot a respectable 38.9 percent from beyond the arc. With last year's leading three-point shooter John Petty gone for the professional level, Ellis' contributions in this area will be much-needed for the Tide. In fact, Ellis only attempted one two-point basket in Sunday's exhibition, which may be a sign of what's to come.
