Shatters records in huge road win Wagler had 46 points (13-17 FG, 9-11 3Pt, 11-13 FT) and four assists over 39 minutes during Saturday's 88-82 victory over Purdue.

Impact Wagler was absolutely unconscious as Illinois picked up a signature win over Purdue on the road in Mackey Arena. He poured on a whopping 46 for the most points ever scored by a freshman in Illini history, and also served as the closer late in the game, hitting a clutch floater to essentially put the game out of reach in the waning seconds. The freshman had been very solid from distance, hitting just under 40 percent of his threes coming into the game, but he buried an unreal 9-of-11 against the Boilermakers, helping him achieve his staggering point total on just 17 shots. The sky appears to be the limit for the 6-foot-6 guard from Kansas.
