Impact After scoring zero points in the first half with teammate Darryn Peterson (quadriceps) stealing the show, Council rose up in the second half of the matchup and recorded 20 points. While the senior guard's efforts weren't enough to get the Jayhawks a victory, he showcased why he can also be a go-to scorer for the team. If Council and Peterson can find a way to work in tandem moving forward, Kansas' offense could be even more lethal.

Impact Peterson returned to the court in the Jayhawks' conference opener versus the Knights, and he logged a season-high 26 points in the eventual loss. The star freshman also did so across just 23 minutes, as he got shut down in the latter half of the second half and did not return to the contest. This puts the 6-foot-6 guard's status now in jeopardy moving forward, especially in Kansas' upcoming showing on Tuesday against TCU.
