Impact Shedrick hasn't scored more than 10 points in a single game this season and only has one double-double, but there's no question he's making a name for himself as a defensive anchor. He has five straight games with three or more blocks and is averaging 3.3 swats per game as the Cavaliers' starting center.

First double-double of season Shedrick had 10 points (3-4 FG, 4-5 FT), 10 rebounds and three blocks in 20 minutes during Friday's 68-52 win over Coppin State.

Impact Shedrick tied his season-high mark in points and also posted a season-high mark in rebounds -- in turn, this was his first double-double of the campaign. Shedrick has started each of his first four games for Virginia and is averaging 7.8 points and 6.3 boards per contest.

Impact Shedrick came just three boards shy of what would've been his first double-double of the year, a feat he's come close to accomplish twice this season. He's been limited to a bench role in 2020-21, but the fact that he has scored in double digits in two of the team's last three games bodes well for his chances of earning a bigger role sooner than later.

Impact Shedrick might have come off the bench, but he was one of four players that registered 10 or more points in the Cavaliers roster while also pacing the team in the rebounding department. Shedrick had scored just two points combined in his first two games, however, and he's not expected to post these strong performances on a routine basis. His next chance to play will come Friday against Kent State.
