Considered day-to-day Powell (head) is considered day-to-day heading into Wednesday's game against Mississippi State, Josh Vitale of the Montgomery Advertiser reports.

Impact Powell was injured against Texas A&M over the weekend and his status is still murky for Wednesday. He has started seven of 10 games on the year, so Auburn would have to make a major lineup adjustment if he's unavailable against the Bulldogs. Chase Maasdorp would likely start at point guard if Powell can't go.

Suffers head injury Powell suffered a head injury late in the first half against Texas A&M on Saturday, Justin Ferguson of AuburnObserver.com reports.

Impact Powell was able to return to the game, which suggests the injury wasn't particularly serious, though head coach Bruce Pearl said he "didn't look right" upon his return. His total of two points on the night would seem to back up that idea. Whether or not the issue results in an absence for the Freshman guard remains to be seen.

Impact Coming off a season-worst three points against Troy, Powell bounced back and posted a stellar, all-around outing in 32 minutes of action. Prior to Tuesday's outing, the freshman was posting an impressive 14.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game for the Tigers to start the year.
