Impact Halaifonua had his best game of the season Thursday, recording his first double-double of the campaign in the Hoyas' biggest game of the season thus far. It marked his first 20-point game in Big East play this season, and although he went 0-3 from three, he hit all nine of his attempts from inside the arc. He also set a season-high with 10 rebounds, four of which came on the offensive end. He and the Hoyas face a very difficult matchup in the Big East semifinal versus UConn on Friday, a team he scored just six points against in two appearances this season.

Impact After scoring exactly two points in three consecutive games, Halaifonua bounced back Wednesday with 11 points. He made all five of his attempts from the field, including one three-pointer. It's been a tale of two seasons for Halaifonua as he started off the season very well, averaging 12.5 points and 5.2 rebounds across 25.2 minutes per game through the first 13 games of the season. He's seen a significant dip in production and playing time though, only averaging 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game across his last eight contests. Much of this can be explained by the return of Vince Iwuchukwu, as much of Halaifonua's production came when Iwuchukwu was out. It seems as long as Iwuchukwu is healthy, Halaifonua won't be able to produce at the same level.
