Impact Girard struggled badly in his first two contests, putting up nine combined points in the wins over Winthrop and UAB, but he has bounced back with double-digit scoring outings against Davidson and Boise State. The improvement is noticeable in the scoring column, but an uptick in his efficiency wouldn't hurt, either -- he's made just 41.5 percent of his field goals to begin the campaign.

Dealt with ankle injury in camp Coach Brad Brownell said that Girard has battled an ankle injury in fall camp, Jon Blau of The Post and Courier reports.

Impact It's unclear how serious the ankle injury is or if it will cause Girard to miss any games. The former Syracuse guard elected to use his final year of eligibility with Clemson and is expected to be a big contributor this year. Clemson has an exhibition game on Nov. 1 before their regular season-opener against Winthrop on Nov. 6.
