Impact Girard struggled badly in his first two contests, putting up nine combined points in the wins over Winthrop and UAB, but he has bounced back with double-digit scoring outings against Davidson and Boise State. The improvement is noticeable in the scoring column, but an uptick in his efficiency wouldn't hurt, either -- he's made just 41.5 percent of his field goals to begin the campaign.

He averaged 16.4 points and 3.0 assists across his 32 games for a Syracuse team that was average during the 2022-23 Atlantic Coast Conference season. Girard then transferred to Clemson, a fellow ACC side but one that fell just short of qualification into the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Clemson's team hopes he can help push it to the promised land, though his role and output may diminish as part of a presumably better group.
