Impact Epps did not improve his output while part of Illinois' starting lineup Saturday. Ramses Melendez (shoulder) is expected to replace the healthy freshman sooner than later. In spite of his injured shoulder, he logged three rebounds across 15 minutes as a backup option Saturday.

Impact Epps continues to improve early in the season, playing for at least 23 minutes in all three games but increasing his point tallies up to Monday's numbers, which was second only to Terrence Shanon for the Illini. While Skyy Clark has opened the season as the starter at PG and offers a greater emphasis on passing, Epps could see an increased role if he continues to make things happen.
