Out again, sheds boot Bynum (foot) isn't playing in Saturday's game versus Central Connecticut but has shed his walking boot, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Bynum was reportedly a game-time call for Saturday's tilt, so the absence of a walking boot is a good sign that he's close to retaking the floor. He has a full week to rest up before the Friars return to action Dec. 18 versus UConn and figures to have a good chance to be in uniform then.
DECEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE

Impact Bynum went down in last Saturday's game against St. Peter's with a foot/ankle injury. He was seen wearing a boot on his right foot in the second half. It's unclear how long term of an injury this might be. Providence will take on Rhode Island on Saturday as well.

Impact Bynum began last season as the starting point guard, but missed time with a groin injury and came off the bench upon his return. He started this scrimmage alongside Indiana transfer Al Durham in the backcourt, and both players collected identical numbers in both points and assists (although Bynum was a bit more efficient). Collectively, the duo combines to make perhaps one of the more underrated backcourts in the Big East.

Impact Bynum missed nine games due to a nagging groin injury and was finally able to return to the court Saturday. The 5-10 sophomore started the first 11 games of the season before getting injured, however, he appears to be still getting up to speed and could remain on a minutes restriction for a little longer.
FEBRUARY 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Expected back Saturday Bynum (groin) is expected to be ready to go for Saturday's game against DePaul, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact A groin strain has cost Bynum nine games. He was considered a game-time decision Wednesday against Connecticut but wound up needing a few more days. Assuming he does indeed take the court, he'll be doing so for the first time since Jan. 2.
FEBRUARY 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Will not play Wednesday Bynum (groin) will not play in Wednesday's game against Connecticut, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports.
Impact Bynum will miss his ninth consecutive game with a groin strain. He has been working his way back slowly in practice, but is still not ready to play in games. Providence will play again on Saturday against DePaul.

Considered game-time decision Providence head coach Ed Cooley labeled Bynum (groin) as a game-time decision for Wednesday's tilt with Connecticut, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Cooley acknowledged that the Saint Joseph's transfer is "getting closer" to returning from the left groin strain that has sidelined him for the Friars' past eight games, though it remains uncertain if Bynum will be ready to go Wednesday. Providence will likely evaluate Bynum in a pregame workout before providing an update on his status shortly before the 4 p.m. ET tipoff.

Ready for practice work Providence head coach Ed Cooley said Monday that Bynum (groin) will begin participating in practice this week, but the sophomore guard is without a clear timetable to return to gam...
Impact Bynum has been out since Jan. 2 with a left groin strain, an injury that typically carries a 4-to-6-week recovery window. While he's been cleared to resume 5-on-0 work on the court, Bynum may need another week or so before he's ready for full-contact, full-court work. Expect him to remain out through at least the Friars' final two games of the month, set for Wednesday (versus Marquette) and Saturday (at Georgetown).
JANUARY 25, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
No timetable for a return Bynum (groin) did not end up playing Saturday against Villanova and head coach Ed Cooley said after the game that he has no set timetable for a return, Bill Koch of The Providence...
Impact Bynum was in uniform and took part in warmups ahead of Saturday's game but it seems he never actually had a shot of playing. The 5-10 sophomore hasn't played since injuring himself against Creighton on Jan. 2 and there remains no official outlook on when he could be expected to return.
JANUARY 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Warming up Saturday Bynum (groin) is dressed and warming up ahead of Saturday's game against Villanova, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

JANUARY 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Game-time call Saturday Bynum (groin) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against Villanova, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Bynum is a critical piece for the Friars, as the point guard is averaging 5.8 points and 4.5 assists per game this season. He has already missed three games in a row and, while his fantasy impact isn't very high, Providence undoubtedly miss him -- they've gone 1-2 since he went down injured and also lost the game where he suffered the groin problem.

Impact Bynum is still considered a game-time decision, however. He will likely continue to test it out and see how his groin strain feels. It was reported yesterday that he was unlikely to play, so it's unclear what might actually happen.
JANUARY 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play Wednesday Bynum (groin) isn't expected to take the floor Wednesday against Creighton, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Bynum appears set for his third consecutive absence for the Friars as he continues to work his way back from a groin strain. If he sits out as expected, he'll have another chance to take the floor Saturday versus Villanova.
JANUARY 19, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Will travel Wednesday Bynum (groin) will travel for Wednesday's game against Creighton, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Bynum has been unable to do 5-on-5 work in practice since Jan. 2 due to a groin strain, so the chances of him actually playing Wednesday don't seem all that great. If he can't go Wednesday, Bynum's next chance to take the court would be Saturday against Villanova.
