Mississippi State Basketball Guard Jamel Horton Jr. No Longer With Bulldogs Guard Jamel Horton Jr. is no longer with the Mississippi State program.

No longer part of program Horton is not part of Mississippi State's program anymore, according to Stefan Krajisnik of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger.

Impact Horton averaged 1.4 assists and 1.0 rebounds across his 14 games (three started) with the program. Horton's disappointing stats will not make him an appealing option if able to play next year, as the senior will require transferring to another team willing to take his services.

Impact Fortunately for Horton, his previous problem prevented him from sitting out only one of Mississippi State's games. He is expected to continue competing for minutes against Dashawn Davis (ankle). But considering he remains injured, Horton could benefit from his teammate's temporary absence.
