Named WCC Newcomer of the Year Suggs was named the West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year on Tuesday.

Impact In addition to this honor, Suggs joins teammates Corey Kispert, Joel Ayayi and Drew team on the all-WCC first team. Suggs burst on the scene as the primary ball handler for the Bulldogs in 2020-21, averaging 13.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The freshman and projected NBA lottery pick will get more opportunities to shine on the national stage as Gonzaga heads into the NCAA Tournament as the projected No. 1 overall seed.

Scores 24 points in 26 minutes Suggs posted 24 points (10-18 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds and three assists across 26 minutes in Monday's 82-71 victory over BYU.

Impact Suggs posted a game-high 24 points and did it despite only playing 26 minutes - the least among Gonzaga's starters. It's the third 24+ point performance for the freshman and the first in his last 13 games. Suggs has been an extremely efficient shooter in his freshman season - connecting on 60 percent of his two-point attempts and 37 percent of his long-range shots.

Impact Suggs didn't have an efficient shooting night but contributed well across the board, finishing just one point and two assists shy of a triple-double. He's settled into his role on the offense as the next option after Drew Timme and Corey Kispert. Suggs leads the team with 4.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Suggs has failed to score 10 points now in back-to-back games but that could easily change when the Zags play next against Santa Clara on Jan. 7.
