Impact Mashack hasn't been known as a big-time scorer with the Volunteers, but he continued to do what's helped him carve out a starting role in Knoxville: rebounding, defense and taking good shots within head coach Rick Barnes' system. That's exactly what he'll need to continue to do as Tennessee tries to lock up a No. 2, or possibly even No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Impact Mashack's stat-line over 26 minutes was almost comically non-existent. He's in the midst of a career year in terms of the minutes he's seeing and his averages, but there's plenty of nights like Tuesday, where he does almost virtually nothing. Mashack has carved out a role for himself, but that role fluctuates and isn't always vital to the Vols' efforts.

Impact Mashack hasn't been that effective of an offensive weapon, averaging 5.9 points on 4.1 shots. Tennessee's offense appears to need a revamp, and quite honestly, keeping Mashack in the starting five won't cut it. He also hasn't offered enough consistently as a facilitator or a rebounder to merit the playing time he's receiving.

Impact Mashack started eight games last season and is in position to be a full-time started as a senior.
