Impact Horton's 14 points trailed only Max Abmas amongst all Texas players and matched his total from the previous four games combined. While his performance was not quite enough to get the Longhorns over the hump in the Big 12 tournament against Kansas State, he and his Texas teammates are a near lock to continue their season in the NCAA tournament once the at-large bids to the big dance are announced on Sunday.

He had gotten off to a strong start this season, scoring double-figures in six of the first seven, but averaged just 2.9 points in the nine games prior to Wednesday. WIth the Longhorns slumping and Brock Cunningham failing to contribute much upon his move to the bench, it would not be a surprise if Horton will be given a chance to continue to prove himself as a member of the starting five.
