Impact Asuma couldn't buy a long-range bucket, but he still managed to hit double-digit points for the second straight game by getting to the free throw line. Since becoming a starter in his sophomore season with the Gophers, Asuma's efficiency has dipped as he's taken on a bigger role. But though he didn't show it against Iowa, the guard's passing has been a big weapon for Minnesota this season, as he's averaging 4.1 assists. That feel for the offense is helping him earn as many minutes as he has thus far in 2025-26.

Impact Asuma has double-digit points and six assists in each of his last two games. Sure, they were easy wins against overmatched opponents, but it's good to see the sophomore guard pick up steam with the meat of conference play right around the corner. Asuma has been one of the Gophers' best facilitators this season, averaging 4.7 assists across 12 games thus far.
