No. 8 Baylor faces Nicholls St.

No. 8 Baylor hosts Nicholls State in an early season matchup
NOVEMBER 13, 2021 Associated Press
LJ Cryer - Puts in 13 off bench Cryer ended Friday's 87-60 victory over Incarnate Word with 13 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and three assists over 22 minutes.
Impact Cryer was the team's top scorer off the bench, something that has a chance to become a theme this season. The injury to Langston Love leaves Cryer as easily the top backcourt option off the bench for the Bears. Baylor's starting rotation appears to be pretty solidified, but Cryer should still see 20-25 minutes most nights.

Kendall Brown - Starts and scores 13 in first college game Brown produced 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and two steals across 18 minutes during Friday's 87-60 win over Incarnate Word.
Impact Brown is one of the highest ranked recruits in Baylor history. He impressed in training camp and was inserted into the starting lineup for Day 1. With all the departures Baylor had last season, Brown figures to be in position to put up big numbers and potentially take home some awards at the end of the season as a top freshman.

Matthew Mayer - Team-high 14 points in opener Mayer chipped in 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes during Friday's 87-60 win over Incarnate Word.
Impact Mayer's 14 points were a team high, but he was one of five Bears to score in double figures. Mayer offers a lot of versatility to play different positions and to score inside and out. He only played 21 minutes on Friday, but should see more action as Baylor starts to get to tougher opponents.
NOVEMBER 13, 2021 ROTOWIRE
James Akinjo - 10 points in Baylor debut Akinjo racked up 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, six assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Friday's 87-60 win over Incarnate Word.
Impact Akinjo had a decent day by his standards. He wasn't needed to score much in the rout, but did a nice job running the offense in his first outing as a Baylor Bear. The prized Arizona transfer should continue to get more comfortable as the season goes on. Akinjo will face more easy tests against Nicholls State on Monday and Central Arkansas on Wednesday.
