Grinds out 34 minutes in win Jarreau had nine points (3-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, a steal and a block in 34 minutes during Saturday's 62-46 win over Syracuse in the Sweet 16. Impact Jarreau came into Saturday's game nursing a hip injury stemming from the opening-round game against Cleveland State but showed no signs of slowing down despite not being at 100 percent health. His shooting wasn't pretty but he made up for it on the defensive end by locking up Buddy Boeheim and limiting him to just 12 points (3-13 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 5-7 FT) after Boeheim had combined for 55 points in the previous two games. Next up is a meeting with Oregon State in the Elite 8 in which Jarreau will likely have the task of shutting down Ethan Thompson who is averaging 24 points and 5.5 rebounds over his last two games.
