Jamier Jones - Scores 16 in debut Jones totaled 16 points (7-7 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 20 minutes during Monday's 89-79 win over Holy Cross.
Impact Jones made his collegiate debut Monday and it went extremely well. He played 20 minutes off the bench and was second on the team in scoring with 16 points. He made all seven of his field goal attempts and both of his free throws. He also grabbed five rebounds and recorded one steal, giving him an excellent performance to begin his college career. It appears the true freshman will be involved in the Friars' rotation this season, although it's unclear how Rich Barron (concussion) will impact Jones' minutes once he returns to the lineup.

Stefan Vaaks - Scores 19 off the bench in opener Vaaks amassed 19 points (5-9 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), one rebound, two assists and two steals in 20 minutes during Monday's 89-79 win over Holy Cross.
Impact Vaaks started his season off well Monday as he led the team in scoring in his collegiate debut despite coming off the bench. He scored those 19 points on just nine field goal attempts, thanks in part to his six free throws and three 3-point makes. Given his production in the season opener, and the fact that he played 20 minutes, it appears he will be involved in the Friars' rotation this season as a true freshman.

Jaylen Harrell - Tending to knee injury Harrell participated in pregame warmups Monday but has been tending to a knee injury, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Harrell didn't crack the starting five, but that wasn't expected anyway. It's unclear if the four-star freshman will be able to debut in the season opener, but if not, his next chance to suit up is Saturday against Virginia Tech.

Daquan Davis - Tending to undisclosed injury Davis, who was left out of the Providence starting lineup, was not a full participant in warmups due to an undisclosed injury, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Davis was expected to compete for a starting role, as he appeared in 31 games (20 starts) for Florida State last year, averaging 8.8 points and 2.5 assists. In his stead, guards Jason Edwards, Jaylin Sellers and Corey Floyd will all draw starts. Assuming Davis doesn't make it off the bench, his next chance to play will be Saturday against Virginia Tech.
