Impact Hefner has been limited significantly in practice by an elbow injury, so it wasn't too surprising to see him sit this one out. Barring further updates, he should also be considered questionable for Friday's tilt against Abilene Christian. In his absence Wednesday, Henry Coleman served as the starting power forward and chipped in a team-high 27 points. With performances like that, Hefner may be limited to a depth role once ultimately cleared.

The 6-6 freshman has averaged 4.6 points and one rebound in 16.2 minutes per game this season and will continue to act as a role player now that he's healthy again.

We now know that the issue is related to his right leg and it may need some time to heal. Consider the freshman questionable at best for a Dec. 29 matchup against LSU.

Impact Hefner did not suit up for Tuesday's game against Southeastern Louisiana, and he'll remain out for at least next Monday's game against Wofford, head coach Buzz Williams said Tuesday. Hefner will thus have two weeks to recover from an ankle injury, as the team doesn't play again until Dec. 29 at LSU. Hefner hasn't seen a large load of minutes through four games, though he earned a start Dec. 6 against UTRGV, playing 22 minutes during the contest. On the season, Hefner is averaging 4.3 points on 42.9 percent shooting along with 1.0 rebounds over 14.5 minutes. While he's out, Quenton Jackson and Emanuel Miller figure to see an uptick in minutes.
